Don Juan=Jodo Akai de Yamato; About Mass media in Japan

What is "masugomi" (trash-media) in Japan?

The term "masugomi", coined by Japanese netizens, is vaguely defined as the word indicating mass-media contemptuously. "Masu" means mass, and "gomi" means trash in Japanese. "Gomi" is derived from "comi", a shortened form of "communication". Most of programs, informations and opinions provided by these media , at least to some netizens eyes, seem to be non-sense, extremely biased, or obvious advocators of the foreign government such as Beijing or Pyongyang. Hence, they seem to be worthless as were a mountain of trash.

In fact, freedom of press in Japan is rated as 51st by "Reporters sans frontières". The reason includes its exclusive press club (kisya kurabu). In addition, I think that Japanese journalists should be ranked more inferiorly because they lessened the importance and trust of mass communication for its lack of ability and fairness undoubtedly. This is the first step of the crisis of Japanese democracy.

Masugomi is clearly responsible for this catastrophic situation. NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT!
